In the hinterland of western China, a traffic artery connecting the economic belt is surging with strong vitality. In the first half of 2023, the cargo sent by the western land-sea new Channel increased by 10.5% year-on-year, and the western land-sea new Channel is gradually becoming a golden link for the two-way opening of the land and sea along the Way. The accelerated development of new land and sea channels in the west brings opportunities for encrypted integrated three-dimensional transportation network and material circulation.
At present, the construction of the new land-sea corridor in western China has achieved remarkable results higher than expected. The formation of large-capacity transport corridors in Guangxi was accelerated, a number of key transport projects such as the Nanning-Chongzuo high-speed Railway were gradually implemented, and a modern comprehensive three-dimensional transport network began to take shape. The hub function of the Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port has been significantly improved. From 2019 to 2022, the comprehensive handling capacity of the Beibu Gulf Port has increased from 260 million tons to 315 million tons, and the container routes have reached 75, serving more than 200 ports in more than 100 countries and regions around the world. The scale of channel logistics has also grown rapidly, taking port transportation as an example, from 2019 to 2022, the container throughput of Beibu Gulf Port has increased from 3.82 million TEU to 7.02 million TEU, and the growth rate ranks the forefront of major coastal ports in the country. The business environment of the channel continues to improve. It is reported that at present, the comprehensive charge of Beibu Gulf Port is basically the same as that of major domestic ports. In 2022, the overall customs clearance time for imports and exports at Guangxi ports will be greatly reduced, and the customs clearance time will be further improved. With the acceleration of the construction of the new land-sea corridor in the West, Guangxi's level of opening up and cooperation continues to improve. In 2022, the total import and export trade of provinces along the new land-sea Corridor through Guangxi ports exceeded 500 billion yuan, reaching a record high, and in the first half of 2023, the total has exceeded 290 billion yuan, an increase of nearly 50%, and the radiation driving role of the channel has been significantly enhanced.
