[Successful Signing of Green Methanol Project in Qiandongnan Prefecture] On December 12, 2023, China National Energy Corporation and Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture signed a cooperation agreement on the synthesis of green methanol from forest waste in Beijing. According to the agreement, both parties will cooperate in the construction of distributed forest waste collection and storage stations as well as centralized biomass gasification and methanol synthesis facilities. After the project is completed, 400000 tons of forest waste will be utilized annually, and 160000 tons of green and renewable methanol will be produced annually. The successful signing of the project will effectively assist Qiandongnan Prefecture in promoting the large-scale and efficient utilization of biomass renewable resources, accelerating the process of ecological environment protection, and helping to achieve the national "3060" dual carbon target as soon as possible.
