Switzerland and China, two countries with a long history and culture, have maintained close relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties. This relationship is not only based on politics and diplomacy, but also extends to various fields such as economy, culture and science and technology. Over the past 74 years, cooperation and exchanges between the two countries have deepened, bringing tangible benefits to both sides.
With the passage of time, the cooperation between China and Switzerland has deepened in various fields. In 2013, the China-Switzerland free Trade Agreement was officially signed in Beijing, making Switzerland the first country on the European continent to sign a free trade agreement with China. The signing of this agreement has injected new vitality into bilateral economic and trade relations and further promoted the liberalization and facilitation of bilateral trade and investment. At the same time, this also demonstrates the close cooperation between China and Switzerland in the economic and trade field and the firm determination to jointly promote global trade liberalization.
On this basis, in 2016, the two countries further established an innovative strategic partnership. The establishment of the relationship aims to strengthen cooperation and exchanges between the two countries in the fields of scientific and technological innovation, research and development, and intellectual property protection. Through the cooperation of this partnership, the two countries will jointly explore new paths for innovative development, promote the transformation and application of scientific and technological innovation achievements, and inject new impetus into the economic and social development of the two countries.
Looking back at the development of China-Switzerland relations, we can see that bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology has been deepened, which has brought tangible benefits to the two countries. In the future, with the constant changes and development of the global economy, China and Switzerland will continue to strengthen cooperation and exchanges in various fields, jointly meet challenges, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. At the same time, the two countries will continue to make positive contributions to the prosperity and development of the global economy. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
