On January 23, 2024, at 2:9 am, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in Wushi County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang, with a depth of 22 kilometers. The Aksu area power station of Xinjiang Energy and Chemical Industry had a strong earthquake sensation, while the Kushtayi hydropower station in Ili Prefecture had a relatively strong earthquake sensation. All stations organized comprehensive investigations at the first time, and there were no casualties in Xinjiang Energy and Chemical Industry. The system equipment of each station was operating normally
After the earthquake, Xinjiang Energy and Chemical immediately activated the emergency plan for earthquake disasters, carried out personnel evacuation, and organized the group company system to conduct post earthquake investigations in sister units in Xinjiang to comprehensively prevent and control earthquake disaster risks.
The affiliated Aksu Company immediately organized an investigation into the damage to employees and the factory station, focusing on conducting a mesh like inspection of power station equipment, booster stations, lines and other facilities while ensuring personal safety. Emergency prevention and disposal measures were taken for equipment and buildings with safety hazards. At the same time, actively maintain close contact with local governments, power grids, rescue agencies, and other departments to form a collaborative combat mechanism.
50 kilometers from the epicenter
The electrical equipment of Huaguang Ush Photovoltaic Power Station is operating normally, and there are slight cracks in the building (structure) of the power station.
Personnel on site of Aksu Company's Huaguang Ush Photovoltaic Power Station were transferred to emergency tents
Within 300 kilometers from the epicenter
The personnel and equipment of State Power Investment Corporation of China Building Materials Power Station, Huaguang Awati Power Station, State Power Investment Corporation of China Xinrong Tumushuke Power Station, State Power Investment Corporation of China Zhenfa Yuepu Lake Photovoltaic Power Station, Rongxin, Astumushuke Photovoltaic Power Station, and Alar Power Station are all safe and sound.
There is a strong sense of shock
The Kushtayi Hydroelectric Power Station of the Kukesu Hydroelectric Company, under its jurisdiction, urgently organized personnel to conduct post earthquake inspections and troubleshooting on key areas and equipment such as dams, discharge structures, generator sets, and switch stations. It comprehensively inspected other stations in the Ili area, fully ensuring personal, equipment, and power generation safety. At the same time, it required employees at each station to ensure smooth mobile phones at all times. At present, no geological damage such as collapse or landslide has been found on the slopes around the dam and factory building, and all hydraulic structures are normal.
Next, Xinjiang Energy and Chemical Industry will closely monitor aftershocks and other possible emergencies, strengthen monitoring and management of earthquakes, timely discover and solve potential safety hazards, continuously improve employees' earthquake prevention awareness and emergency response capabilities, and spare no effort to complete earthquake resistance, disaster relief, safety and power supply work.
