The reporter learned from the media briefing held by China General Nuclear Power Group (hereinafter referred to as "CGN") that in 2023, the total installed capacity of clean energy of CGN exceeded 100 million kilowatts, and the annual online electricity capacity reached 333.8 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 23.4 billion kilowatt-hours over the previous year.
Li Li, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of CGN, said that in 2023, CGN's annual clean energy online electricity consumption will replace standard coal equivalent to more than 100 million tons, carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by more than 260 million tons, and environmental benefits will be equivalent to planting 751,000 hectares of forest, making positive contributions to achieving the "double carbon" goal and global response to climate change.
"As the main force in China's clean energy development, CGN adheres to the feature of nuclear energy, and vigorously develops clean energy such as nuclear, wind, light and storage. The installed capacity of clean energy under operation has exceeded 100 million kilowatts." Li Li revealed that CGN's 27 nuclear power units in operation have maintained safe and stable operation, nearly 80% of the WANO(World Association of Nuclear Power Operators) index has reached the world's advanced level, and the comprehensive index of 15 units has reached full score.
Up to now, CGN has 11 nuclear power units under construction, all of which use China's third-generation nuclear power technology "Hualong One" with independent intellectual property rights, distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian and other places, and the mass construction is steadily advancing.
Ouyang Wu, chief accountant of Daya Bay Nuclear Power Operation and Management Co., LTD., said that by the end of 2023, the cumulative online power of the six units of the Daya Bay Base had reached 939.1 billion KWH, including more than 310.4 billion KWH of electricity delivered to Hong Kong, injecting a steady stream of clean electricity into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The much-watched "first pile in the West" also has new news. On March 25, 2023, the first "Hualong One" in western China - Unit 3 of CGN Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant was officially put into operation to generate electricity, driving more than 5,400 enterprises upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to realize more than 400 key equipment autonomy. According to Hou Yousheng, general manager of Guangxi Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Co., LTD., Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Unit 4 has completed important engineering nodes such as cold test and hot test, and is moving towards the goal of loading nuclear fuel node, which is planned to be put into commercial operation in the first half of this year.
"With the operation of Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant Unit 3 to generate electricity, the Harmony System was applied to Hualong 1 for the first time, verifying the good integration of China's three generations of nuclear power technology and advanced nuclear electrical instrumentation and control equipment." Li Minggang, deputy general manager of CGN Digital Technology Co., LTD., revealed that CGN's independent nuclear level digital instrument control system - "harmony system" has been applied to 23 domestic nuclear power units, and the localization and autonomy of the "nerve center" of nuclear power plants has saved nearly 10 billion yuan of funds for the construction and operation and maintenance of nuclear power projects in China.
