Recently, in Yongzhou City, Hunan Province, 2 × The 500MW gas turbine peak shaving power generation project has officially received approval from the Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission. This significant progress marks that the Yongzhou gas turbine peak shaving power generation project has taken a crucial step and officially entered the implementation phase.

The Yongzhou gas turbine peak shaving power generation project is not only a key layout project of the National Energy Administration and the Hunan Provincial Government, but also included in the provincial and municipal 14th Five Year Energy Special Plan. It is an important component of the energy security system of Hunan Province and Yongzhou City. The project is located in Sidating Village, Jieluqiao Street, Lingling District, and is invested and constructed by Hunan Xiangtou International Investment Co., Ltd. After completion, it will have 2 × A 500MW gas-steam combined cycle power generation unit equipped with advanced flue gas denitrification devices to ensure environmental compliance. The total investment of the project is expected to reach 2.3 billion yuan, and it is planned to be fully completed and put into operation by 2025.

As the industrial core area of Yongzhou City, Lingling District is located adjacent to the load center of the southern Hunan region, making the energy supply demand in the region particularly prominent. The construction of the Yongzhou gas turbine peak shaving power generation project not only helps to meet this demand, but also makes an important contribution to serving the construction of the green energy system in the province, improving the peak shaving capacity of the Hunan power grid, and alleviating the supply-demand contradiction of power peak shaving. The completion of the project will provide stable and efficient energy security for the sustainable development of the Xiangnan area.

It is worth mentioning that Hunan Xiangtou International Investment Co., Ltd. not only invests in the construction of gas turbine peak shaving power generation projects in Lingling District, but also plans to build projects such as cold and hot steam triple supply and new energy photovoltaic power stations, with a total investment expected to exceed 5 billion yuan. The joint implementation of these projects will provide strong impetus for Lingling District to build an efficient and green energy system.
