On February 20, 2024, the signing ceremony of the investment cooperation agreement for the comprehensive project of sodium ion battery industry between Liaoning Xingkong Sodium Battery Co., Ltd. and Liaoning Hongcheng Power Supply Co., Ltd. (Dazhou) was held. This marks a solid step for Dazhou City in the field of new energy and ushers in a new chapter in the development of the new energy industry.

The major project signed this time has landed in the East Economic Development Zone of Dazhou, with a planned total investment of 11.5 billion yuan. It mainly constructs supporting industries such as sodium ion battery positive and negative electrode materials, battery cells, and integrated manufacturing production lines, as well as energy storage power stations, and is equipped with research and development centers and intelligent management systems to create a new energy, new materials, and supporting industry chain.

According to the cooperation agreement, both parties will jointly invest in the comprehensive project of sodium ion battery industry, covering multiple fields such as battery materials, battery cell manufacturing, system integration, and energy storage power station construction. The successful implementation of the project will further promote the development of the new energy industry in Dazhou City, enhance the level of the regional industrial chain, and promote the sustained and rapid growth of the local economy.

In recent years, sodium ion batteries have emerged in the new energy industry due to their abundant reserves of raw materials and low production costs.
