[Fujian Xianyou Mulan Pumped Storage Power Station Project Starts] On February 20, 2024, the construction of the Mulan Pumped Storage Power Station project in Xianyou, Fujian officially began. This project is located at the junction of Shexing Township and Caixi Township in Xianyou County. The construction content mainly includes an upper reservoir, a lower reservoir, a water conveyance system, an underground power plant, a tailwater system, transportation roads, and mechanical and electrical installation. It is the first in South China and the second in the country to use small diameter TBM equipment to excavate long underground power plant tunnels. The plan is to install four reversible water pump turbine generators with a single unit capacity of 350000 kilowatts, resulting in a designed annual power generation of 1.4 billion kilowatt hours A pumped storage power station with an annual pumping capacity of 1.867 billion kilowatt hours and an annual power generation utilization hours of approximately 1000 hours.
