Recently, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province held a large-scale signing and commencement event for key projects in the first quarter of 2024, marking the official entry of several large-scale energy storage projects invested by Huafa Group New Energy Company into the construction phase. These projects include Jinwan Huafa Energy Storage Power Station, Aixu Industrial and Commercial Energy Storage, and Gaojing Solar Energy Industrial and Commercial Energy Storage. Their planned total capacity is up to 500MWh, which will inject new vitality into the energy reserves and economic development of Zhuhai City.
Jinwan Huafa Energy Storage Power Station, as the first centralized energy storage power station in Zhuhai and also the largest energy storage power station, has a planned total capacity of 300MWh, and the first phase construction scale has reached 150MWh. This project is jointly invested and developed by Southern Power Grid and Huafa Group, and closely cooperates with Haibo Sichuang, a leading enterprise in the field of energy storage system integration. The Jinwan Huafa Energy Storage Power Station plans to adopt industry-leading battery compartment technology to achieve intelligent, efficient, safe and reliable operation. By selecting a 0.5C battery compartment, the planned charging and discharging power can reach 150MW, which can be fully charged or discharged in just 2 hours, better meeting the needs of power grid peak shaving and frequency regulation. After the full completion of this project, it is expected to help reduce the peak load of the Zhuhai Macau power grid by 3.1%, effectively alleviate the pressure on the power grid, and improve energy utilization efficiency.
In addition to the Jinwan Huafa Energy Storage Power Station, the two major user side industrial and commercial energy storage projects of Aixu Group's Zhuhai Doumen Base and Gaojing Solar's Zhuhai Jinwan Base have also received much attention. Both projects have a capacity of 100MWh and a charging and discharging power of 50MW. Their construction will ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system, effectively reduce the electricity costs of enterprises, further optimize the regional business environment, and enhance the international competitiveness of enterprises. These industrial and commercial energy storage projects not only help enterprises achieve green and sustainable development, but also promote the transformation and upgrading of the energy structure in Zhuhai City and even the entire Guangdong Province.
