Recently, Huaneng Jiangsu Energy Development Strategy Cooperation and Zinc Nickel Energy Storage Battery Industrialization Project signed a contract with Kunshan. The total investment of the project is 3 billion yuan, and it will focus on the development of zinc nickel battery technology and product manufacturing. Zhou Wei, member of the Standing Committee of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Kunshan Municipal Party Committee, attended the signing event and met with Cao Qingwei, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Huaneng Jiangsu Energy Development Co., Ltd., and his delegation.

During the event, Kunshan and Huaneng Jiangsu Energy Development Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement to jointly build a green and low-carbon demonstration park, which will strengthen cooperation, share resources, actively build an industrial ecosystem where enterprises gather, talents gather, and technology is enriched, and jointly create a leading area and new highland for green and low-carbon development. Zinc nickel batteries, as high-performance green batteries, have inherent safety, pollution-free, recyclable, and high energy density advantages. The zinc nickel energy storage battery industrialization project signed this time can be widely used in the fields of backup power supply, power starting power supply, energy storage, etc. During the event, relevant enterprises also signed a joint development agreement for new energy technology materials with China Electric Power Construction Group East China Survey, Design and Research Institute.

Zhou Wei said that Kunshan is currently actively laying out a new low-carbon industry track, making every effort to build the Yangtze River Delta (Kunshan) International Low Carbon Industry Innovation Park, and accelerating the cultivation of green and low-carbon emerging industry clusters worth billions. We hope that Huaneng can deepen its strategic cooperation based on this, fully leverage the role of a "chain leader" enterprise, focus on the fields of new energy and new materials, and promote more good projects and applications to be implemented in Kunshan.
