On February 26, in the circular economy Industrial park of Shaya County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang, the construction of the 300,000-kilowatt photovoltaic hydrogen production project officially began.
The green hydrogen produced by the project is mainly used as the intermediate raw material for synthetic ammonia, replacing the existing natural gas fossil energy for hydrogen production. The project runs through the whole process of photovoltaic power generation, green electricity transmission, green electricity hydrogen production, hydrogen transport, green hydrogen production and utilization. After the project was put into operation, it saved 100 million cubic meters of natural gas, realized an annual output value of 266 million yuan, and paid tax of 24 million yuan.
Qian Zenglu, director of planning and development of Xinjiang New Energy Development Co., LTD., State Power, said: "The total investment of the project is about 1.9 billion yuan, the main construction of 300,000 kilowatts of photovoltaic and 20,000 tons of hydrogen production, this period of completion, is the national energy Group's '14th Five-Year' period in southern Xinjiang investment and development of the largest green hydrogen production project." The average annual output of green hydrogen in this project is 20,400 tons, and the average annual emission reduction is 166,000 tons of carbon dioxide. It is expected to be completed by the end of August.
