As the global demand for AI computing power grows exponentially, the Southeast Asian data center market is welcoming heavy players. STT GDC, headquartered in Singapore, announced yesterday a large-scale expansion of its Jakarta campus, with four project nodes advancing simultaneously, aiming for AI ready super large scale capacity of over 360MW. This is not only an expansion of production capacity, but also a strategic bet on the future of Indonesia's digital economy.

Four arrows fired at once, production capacity jumps

This expansion project is intensive: the 24MW STT Jakarta 2 has been officially put into use, STT Jakarta 3 has completed its topping out, STT Jakarta 5 and 6 have started laying the foundation simultaneously, and the latter two are planned to have a 40MW IT load each. The high-voltage substation on site in the park has been officially electrified, becoming the first data center park in Indonesia to implement this configuration, and power bottlenecks are no longer a limiting factor.

The cooperation with Indonesia's national power company ensures carbon neutrality from the first day of operation. As a joint hosting partner of NVIDIA, the data center is designed specifically for the next-generation Vera Rubin and Vera Rubin Ultra platforms, meeting the precise positioning AI computing power requirements.

Rooted in local ecology and jointly built

The head of STT GDC Indonesia believes that Indonesia is entering a new stage of digital growth, and infrastructure readiness will become a key variable supporting the implementation of AI and enterprise transformation. Group CEO Bruno Lopez stated that driven by the demand for cloud computing and AI, Indonesia has risen to become one of the most important digital infrastructure markets in Southeast Asia, and this expansion is a reflection of confidence in the country's long-term growth.

To solve the problem of talent shortage in data centers, STT GDC and ATMI Cikarang have established a data center laboratory learning center in West Java Province, and are simultaneously building community badminton facilities and carrying out mangrove planting projects in Cikarang to enhance coastal ecological protection and improve the livelihoods of local residents.
