In the Middle East, which has long been dominated by European, American, and Japanese companies in the global high-end power transmission and transformation market, Chinese power companies have ushered in a heavyweight breakthrough. At the beginning of 2026, TBEA achieved great success in the overseas market, winning a large order from Saudi Arabia's super grid and setting a new industry record.

Billions of overseas orders landed in Saudi Arabia

At the beginning of 2026, TBEA's overseas business received significant benefits, successfully winning the local procurement project for ultra-high voltage transformers and reactors from Saudi Power Company, with a total order amount of about 16.4 billion yuan and a project period of 7 years, setting a new record for the highest single order of power transmission and transformation equipment in the world.

This project is used for the renovation and upgrading of the power grid throughout Saudi Arabia, supplying hundreds of 500kV and 380kV ultra-high voltage transformers, parallel reactors, and supporting intelligent monitoring systems. The project requires 70% local manufacturing of products, transfer of supporting technologies, and long-term operation and maintenance services, which is a key project for Saudi Arabia to promote energy transformation. TBEA will establish an intelligent manufacturing base in Saudi Arabia, integrating local research and development, production, and after-sales services to boost local employment and improve the local upstream and downstream industrial chain. Seize the Middle East market

Saudi Arabia is located in the Middle East and is a core market for regional energy infrastructure, with strict industry access standards. By winning this bid, TBEA has broken the long-standing monopoly of European, American, and Japanese companies, which means that China's ultra-high voltage equipment and technology have firmly established themselves in the high-end power grid market in the Middle East. In the next five years, the demand for global power grid renovation and new energy grid connection will continue to rise. With the advantages of technology, cost, and comprehensive services, TBEA is expected to continue to win large overseas orders.Editor/Gong Ziwei
