From the construction of Gezhouba, the first dam on the Yangtze River, to the construction of the world's largest water conservancy project, the Three Gorges Project, to the full operation of Baihetan Hydropower Station, after more than half a century of unremitting efforts, a series of world-class technologies have been overcome. problem.

In the Baihetan Hydropower Station, a single turbine unit is more than 50 meters high and weighs more than 8,000 tons. However, it is a very precise instrument. The concentricity deviation between the turbine and the generator does not exceed 0.015 mm, which is thinner than a hair. At the same time, its stability and quietness are also worth mentioning. When they rotate at a high speed of nearly two revolutions per second, coins placed vertically on them will not fall over.

In addition, this "clean energy corridor" has also created cascade reservoirs and strategic freshwater resource pools with a total storage capacity of 91.9 billion cubic meters. From last winter to early spring, more than 10 billion cubic meters of water has been replenished downstream, which is equivalent to more than 700 West Lakes, effectively alleviating the water shortage in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

This is not only a "clean energy corridor" but also an "ecological protection corridor". In order to allow migratory fish to pass through the hydropower station smoothly, engineers specially built a special fish line, allowing migratory river fish to enter the fish collection tank first, and then enter the fish holding pond through the pipeline.
