On March 1, 2024, the Jiangxi Provincial Public Resource Trading Network released a notice on the construction and operation bidding of the Liuyuan Reservoir project in Shangli County. The project belongs to the water conservancy engineering industry, with a total investment of 2.013 billion yuan.

Project Overview

Construction location: Jiguanshan Township, Pingxiang City, Shangli County.

The scope of general contracting for the construction of this project includes but is not limited to the construction of the Liuyuan Reservoir Hub Project, the Zaomu Reservoir Spillway Renovation Project, the construction of new connecting tunnels, ancillary facilities and equipment, and the restoration of resettlement infrastructure

New Liuyuan Reservoir Hub Project. The proposed new Liuyuan Reservoir is located in Jiguanshan Township, Shangli County, Pingxiang City. The dam site is located in the middle and upper reaches of the Qiujiang River, a primary tributary of the Lishui River. It is a medium-sized reservoir with flood control, water supply, ecological environment replenishment, and irrigation as its main development tasks. The controlled watershed area is 15.9 km2, with a normal water storage level of 168 m, a total storage capacity of 1640 × 104 m3, and a maximum dam height of 46.5 m. The hub building mainly consists of a rockfill concrete gravity dam+clay core wall dam, a layered water intake, a downstream stilling pool, and other buildings. The main building level is 3, the secondary building level is 4, and the temporary building level is 5.

Zaomu Reservoir Spillway Renovation Project. Zaomu Reservoir is an existing reservoir located in Zaomu Village, upstream of the Lishui River in the Lushui River Basin. It has a normal water level of 167 meters and a total storage capacity of 1280 × 10 m3. It is a key medium-sized reservoir mainly used for water supply and irrigation, combined with comprehensive utilization such as power generation and aquaculture. This time, it is planned to transform the open spillway from non gate control to gate control, to increase the normal water level of the reservoir to 168 meters, without renovating other hub buildings of Zaomu Reservoir.

Construct a new connecting tunnel project. A new tunnel is planned to be built between Liuyuan Reservoir and Zaomu Reservoir for connection, with a total length of 9.37 km. A control gate will be installed at the entrance of the Zaomu Reservoir tunnel. The connecting tunnel is planned to be constructed using TBM technology, with a circular cross-section and a excavation diameter of 4.9 meters. Reinforced concrete prefabricated pipe segments are used for lining around it.

Auxiliary facilities and equipment. This project will be equipped with management rooms.

Restoration of immigration infrastructure. We plan to restore and renovate transportation facilities, power transmission and transformation facilities, communication facilities, radio and television line facilities, water conservancy and hydropower facilities, and other professional projects within the scope of land acquisition, depending on the degree of inundation or land acquisition impact. Among them, 8.75 km of third-class highway, 7.68 km of fourth-class highway, 39.26 km of transmission and transformation lines, and 9.45 km of communication lines need to be reconstructed.
