Recently, with the approval of the State Council, the Ministry of Natural Resources officially approved the construction land for the Pinglu Canal project, with a total approved land area of 2842.17 hectares, including 296.31 hectares for the Nanning section and 2545.86 hectares for the Qinzhou section.

It is reported that as a landmark project to speed up the construction of a transportation power and a backbone project of a new land sea channel in the west, the Pinglu Canal Project has been included in the Comprehensive Planning of the the Pearl River Basin (2012-2030), with a total investment of about 72.7 billion yuan and a total construction period of 54 months. In response to the large land area and tight approval time of the Pinglu Canal project, the Natural Resources Department of the Autonomous Region has organized multiple on-site surveys and proposed a plan to ensure the use of controlled individual engineering land through advance land use, striving to complete the project land consolidation and submission in the shortest possible time. After submitting the land approval materials, the main leaders of the department led a team to the Natural Resources Department to coordinate and report, and arranged a dedicated person to track and coordinate in real time, greatly shortening the time for project land to pass the review and approval.

The Pinglu Canal project officially started construction in August 2022 and entered a new phase of full line construction on May 23, 2023. Currently, it has completed a cumulative image investment of over 10 billion yuan. The total construction land for this project has been successfully approved, providing legal land protection for the full construction of the project. The Ministry of Natural Resources requires local natural resource authorities to promptly issue land allocation and supply documents or sign paid use contracts, and upload them to the land market monitoring and supervision system.
