The number of newly started projects reached 17,600, in particular, the new construction of major water conservancy projects was the largest in the history of the same period. In the first half of this year, 17,600 new water conservancy projects were started nationwide, with an investment scale of 720.8 billion yuan, 3,707 more than the same period in 2022, with an investment scale of 111.3 billion yuan more, of which 1,095 projects with an investment scale of more than 100 million yuan. In particular, in 2023, the major water conservancy projects that focus on promoting the preliminary work will implement a weekly report system, pay close attention to the progress of all aspects of the preliminary work, and strive for multiple batches of early opening. Twenty-four major projects, including the backbone of the Jilin water network project, the Xiongan Trunk Canal in Hebei Province, the Jinmen Water Supply project in Fujian Province, the Sanba Reservoir in Sichuan Province, the Fenghuang Landscape Reservoir in Anhui Province, the Kangshan Flood Storage Area of Poyang Lake in Jiangxi Province, and the Xialiujia Irrigation Area in Guangxi Province, started on schedule, accelerating the construction of national, regional and provincial water network engineering systems.
