On December 6, 2023, the new Anhui Provincial Cultural Center project and the Anhui Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center project obtained construction permits and began construction in the Binhu New Area of Hefei City. The project is expected to be completed by the end of May 2025.

It is reported that the project is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Ziyun Road and Jiangsu Road in Binhu New District, Hefei City. After completion, it will be managed and used by the Anhui Provincial Cultural Center and the Anhui Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center.

The new Anhui Provincial Cultural Museum and Anhui Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall will be designed and merged for construction. The total land area of the project is 33700 square meters. The total construction area of the project is approximately 32400 square meters. Among them, the above ground construction area is about 23500 square meters, and the underground construction area is about 8900 square meters. The estimated total investment of the project is approximately 378 million yuan.

The project aims to create a landmark image of a "cultural city" that integrates Anhui's cultural, regional, and functional aspects. After completion, the new cultural museum will become the center for the popularization of art among the whole province's cultural museum system. The Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall will become the most authoritative and comprehensive provincial-level comprehensive and public welfare intangible cultural heritage exhibition hall in Anhui Province, and also the main venue for large-scale intangible cultural heritage exhibitions and exhibitions in Anhui Province The main battlefield for carrying out social education on intangible cultural heritage and an important platform for domestic and international exchange of intangible cultural heritage in Anhui Province.
