On the morning of December 15, 2023, the largest affordable housing project in Shiyan City, Hubei Province, the Dongfang Meijing Affordable Housing Project, officially started construction in the Shiyan Economic Development Zone.

The project is located at the intersection of Longmen Avenue and Longmen Fifth Road in the Economic Development Zone of Shiyan City. The estimated total investment is about 1.4 billion yuan, covering an area of about 125 acres, with a total construction area of 255000 square meters. It plans to construct 1806 units of guaranteed rental housing, with a construction period of 3 and a half years. It is currently the largest affordable rental housing project in the city.

The application notice for the construction of Dongfang Meijing Affordable Housing Project shows that the construction unit (or bidder) is Hubei Zengtou Real Estate Co., Ltd. The project will support the construction of power supply and lighting, landscape greening, water supply and fire protection, elevator engineering, weak current transmission, road network, community service center, community health service station, kindergarten, daycare center, garbage collection station, public toilet and fire control room, etc.

The project aims to achieve a balance between work and residence, convenience and livability, with a focus on new modern architectural styles that cater to the personalized and diversified needs of new citizens and young people. The layout also takes into account "transitional needs+moderate improvement+appropriate advanced design", meeting the delivery conditions for carrying in.
