At 23:59 on December 18, 2023, a 6.2-magnitude earthquake hit Jishishan County, Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province, which seriously affected the lives and property of local residents. Rescue and rescue work is under way in a tense and orderly manner. In order to coordinate the earthquake relief work, the Y-20 aircraft carrying the emergency command team of the Western Theater Command took off from a military airport in the southwest and rushed to the front line of the disaster area.

At around 9:50 am on December 19, the Y-20 aircraft successfully arrived at Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport. After the earthquake, the Western Theater Command quickly launched an emergency response mechanism, and according to the command of the joint command center of the Military Commission, the forward command post was sent to the earthquake area to unified command the disaster relief operations of the troops.

At present, an air defense brigade of the 76th Group Army, the Gansu Provincial Military Region, the Gansu Armed Police Corps and other emergency rescue forces have entered the earthquake area to carry out personnel search and rescue and road clearing. The Army of the Theater command, the Air Force of the Theater command, the Xining Joint Logistic Support Center, the Gansu Corps of the Armed Police, the Qinghai Corps of the Armed Police and other units have also prepared for follow-up support and are ready to participate in disaster relief operations at any time.
