On January 20, 2024, key water conservancy projects in Zhaotong City began construction, and Yongshan County held simultaneous groundbreaking ceremonies for three key water conservancy projects. Chen Tao, Deputy Secretary of the County Party Committee and County Mayor, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.

The three major water conservancy projects under construction in Yongshan County include the Maolin Hejiagou Reservoir, the Makou Daxing Medium sized Irrigation Area, and the modernization of the Haozhiba Irrigation Area. The construction of these projects is not only related to the water conservancy construction and development of Yongshan County, but also a deep concern and firm commitment to the production and life of more than 100000 people in eight townships including Maolin and Makou. After the completion of the project, it will greatly enhance the production and living water security of the people in these areas, provide stable irrigation water for 122800 acres of farmland, effectively promote agricultural production and farmers' income, and inject strong impetus into the rural revitalization and sustainable development of Yongshan County.
