It is known as the core area of Li Township in China. Surrounded by a verdant lychee forest, this place is adjacent to the Datang Litchi Township Cultural Tourism Base. The upgrading project of Maoming Service Area was officially launched on the morning of February 3, 2024. The Department of Transportation of Guangdong Province attaches great importance to this and actively implements the specific deployment of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee 1310, making characteristic service areas an important node for the deep integration of transportation and local economy. The improvement and upgrading of Maoming Service Area will inject new vitality into the construction of Guangdong's first litchi cultural characteristic demonstration service area, and assist in the millions of yuan project and rural revitalization.

The project leader introduced that the architectural design of Maoming Service Area focuses on the water charm of Lixiang and the unique beauty of a branch, emphasizing the reference and recreation of natural and traditional elements. The east-west service buildings in the service area adopt different garden style layouts, connected by pedestrian landscape overpasses, and integrated with the surrounding natural environment. This design concept aims to build Maoming Service Area into a comprehensive service area integrating leisure, entertainment, shopping and cultural experience to provide passengers with more comfortable and convenient services.

After the upgrading of the Maoming service area, passengers can freely traverse between the east and west service buildings through the pedestrian landscape overpass, and experience the charm of nature in the scenic areas on both sides of the highway and the Lilin Trail. In addition, the service area will also add supporting services for the scenic area, such as parking lots outside the site, gas guns, charging stations, etc., and set up functional venues for local cultural promotion and display, tourism distribution, garden style commercial blocks, and specialty catering. These facilities will complement the functions of the scenic area and provide more distinctive and comfortable services for drivers and passengers entering the service area.
