On February 2, 2024, the Qixian South Shallow Geothermal Energy Station B project in Dazehu Haigui Town, Changsha officially started, marking the birth of the first shallow geothermal energy station in Wangcheng, Changsha. This project will not only provide centralized cooling and heating services for commercial, residential, and school industries, but also have a profound impact on the development of green energy in Changsha and even the entire Hunan Province.

The project has a construction area of approximately 7000 square meters, a total investment of approximately 243 million yuan, a pipeline network length of approximately 14 kilometers, and an energy supply building area of approximately 1.5 million square meters. It is expected to be officially put into use in 2025, with the tail water of Yuelu Sewage Treatment Plant as the main source of energy, supplemented by conventional energy sources such as electricity and gas. The estimated annual energy supply is 1.62 × 10MWh. Compared with traditional air conditioning, centralized energy supply has advantages such as moderate humidity and no noise, which not only beautifies the appearance of buildings but also reduces operating costs.

As a pilot project for the large-scale application of shallow geothermal energy buildings in Hunan Province, the Dazehu area's shallow geothermal energy project is not only a benchmark project for achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals in Changsha, but also a green project to improve the quality of life of the people of Wangcheng. After the project is put into operation, it will effectively reduce the urban heat island effect. Reducing carbon dioxide emissions every year is equivalent to creating a large forest with 3.12 million trees, which has important ecological and environmental value.

In the backend operation and service stage, Wangcheng Chengfa Group will take a series of measures, including forming a professional management team, utilizing advanced smart energy management systems, developing convenient and beneficial online platforms, etc., committed to achieving full coverage of shallow geothermal energy utilization in the area. At the same time, we will establish a full process energy supply and operation service system, establish a dedicated service manager and customer service hotline 24/7, and ensure that the needs of energy users are responded to and resolved in a timely manner.

The implementation of this project will effectively promote the development of green energy in Changsha and even Hunan Province, and bring more efficient, stable, and environmentally friendly energy supply services to the Daze Lake area and even the entire city.
