The Hungary-Serbia railway is not only a major breakthrough for China's railways on the international stage, but also a model under the Belt and Road Initiative between China and Serbia. Since its inception, this project has attracted much attention, and the significance behind it goes far beyond the railway itself. In March 2022, with the official opening of the Serbian section, the Hungary-Serbia Railway began to bring real convenience to the local people. Before this, Serbia's railway traffic was relatively backward, and people were inconvenient to travel. The completion and opening of the Hungary-Serbia Railway not only shortened the travel time, but also greatly improved the efficiency of railway transportation, and injected new vitality into the economic development of Serbia.

In an interview, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic fondly recalled his first experience of high-speed rail in China. He admitted that the experience shocked him and made him full of expectations for the future development of transportation in Serbia. Vucic said that he has always dreamed that Serbia can also have its own high-speed rail, so that the country's transportation is more convenient and efficient.
