The construction of the Donggang Tunnel project, a supporting LNG export pipeline in Fujian, has officially begun. The project is being undertaken by the experienced China Railway First Bureau Fourth Company. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Hu Xiaopo, the commander of the Limin Pipeline Command of Fujian Kunlun Energy Liquefied Natural Gas Co., Ltd., delivered a speech.

Hu Xiaopo solemnly emphasized at the groundbreaking ceremony that the Donggang Tunnel is not only a core component of the Fujian LNG receiving station's export pipeline project, but also a top priority for the construction of a zero carbon energy port in the Taiwan Strait. Its successful implementation is of crucial significance for the energy security of Fujian Province and surrounding areas, and will greatly enhance the stability and reliability of energy supply in the southeastern coastal areas. The completion of this project will provide solid energy support for regional economic development and promote the transformation of energy structure in coastal areas towards green and low-carbon direction.

To ensure the efficient progress and excellent quality of the project, Hu Xiaopo has put forward clear requirements for the project team. He emphasized that the team must follow the norms of the construction unit and the company, carefully plan and organize construction management, and ensure the scientificity and rationality of the construction process. At the same time, safety production is the top priority of the project, and the team needs to increase safety investment and adopt scientific and innovative management methods to ensure the safety of the project. Hu Xiaopo hopes that the Donggang Tunnel can become a safe, environmentally friendly, efficient, compliant, high-quality, economical, and transparent demonstration project, injecting new vitality into the energy industry and economic development of Fujian Province and even the whole country, demonstrating China's determination and strength in green development.

The Donggang Tunnel, with a total length of 1797 meters, has a unique structure with straight walls and circular arches. During the construction process of the tunnel, engineers cleverly used a combination of vertical shafts, level tunnels, and inclined tunnels to ensure the smooth progress of construction. However, the construction of the Donggang Tunnel is not an easy task. The project is located in an area with complex geological conditions, and the rock layers that the tunnel passes through are hard and variable, posing great challenges to excavation work. Meanwhile, the high technical difficulty is also a major characteristic of this project. In order to ensure the stability and safety of tunnels, engineers need to use advanced tunnel construction techniques to carefully plan and strictly monitor every construction process.

In addition, the tight schedule has also brought considerable pressure to the project team. In order to complete the project on time, it is necessary to arrange the construction plan reasonably to ensure that every link can be carried out efficiently. At the same time, it is necessary to communicate and coordinate with all parties to ensure that any problems encountered during the construction process can be resolved in a timely manner.Editor/Cheng Liting
