On March 9, 2024, the first national level agricultural opening-up and cooperation pilot zone in the northwest region of Jimunai County, Altay Prefecture, was officially unveiled. It attracted representatives from 11 enterprises from Kazakhstan and other countries, as well as Guangxi, and successfully signed 5 key investment projects.
The core area of Jimunai Agricultural Open Cooperation Pilot Zone covers an area of approximately 14.39 square kilometers, mainly focusing on mutual trade, storage and logistics of agricultural and sideline products, as well as import and export processing industry, committed to cultivating leading industries with agricultural characteristics. And its radiation area covers about 49.39 square kilometers, with a greater emphasis on promoting the expansion of the modern agricultural product processing industry chain, in order to guide the concentration of high-quality agricultural product resources in the surrounding areas towards the experimental zone.
The experimental zone will be committed to optimizing the agricultural product trade and logistics network with surrounding countries and regions, comprehensively improving the import efficiency of various high-quality agricultural products such as grain and oil, livestock products, feed and aquatic products. By building a cross-border commercial logistics center that integrates agricultural product import and export, deep processing, trading, distribution, settlement, and cold chain logistics, the pilot zone will effectively promote international cooperation in the agricultural field in Xinjiang and accelerate the formation of new competitive advantages.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
