With a speed of 160 km/h, the Fuxing train will soon run on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, known as the Heavenly Road! In just 40 years of development, the Xige section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway has achieved a miracle from single track operation to double track operation, from Dongfeng train to harmony electric locomotive, and then to Fuxing train operation!

On the morning of June 5, more than 20 people from Xining Engineering Construction headquarters, Xining Depot, Xining East Depot and design, construction and supervision units in the Xining high-speed train operation Office of China Railway Qinghai-Tibet Group Co., Ltd. inspected and accepted the adaptive transformation project of Xining High-speed Train Station. Other professional acceptance teams also entered the work state simultaneously. It marks the completion of the overall quality improvement project of the Xige section of Qinghai-Tibet Railway and enters the static acceptance stage, laying the foundation for the upcoming Fuxing train to be launched on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.

It is reported that the Qinghai-Tibet Railway is currently the only railway link between the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the rest of the motherland. Among them, the Xining to Golmud section of the first phase of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, with a total length of 816.5 kilometers, started construction in 1958 and delivered in 1984, is an important part of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, which passes through Haixi autonomous Prefecture, Hainan Prefecture and Haibei Prefecture in Qinghai Province. In recent years, the rapid improvement of China's comprehensive national strength and the urgent need of economic and social development in Qinghai and Tibet provinces have put forward higher requirements for the transportation capacity of Xige section of Qinghai-Tibet Railway, and the transformation and upgrading of the whole line is imminent.

Due to the early construction time of Xige Section of Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the technical standards and construction level of the railway were limited by the construction conditions, mechanical equipment and environmental conditions at that time. Although it has been upgraded for many times, it can only meet the ordinary train running at 120 km/h to 140 km/h, and there are still diseases such as frost heave, sand damage, saline soil roadbed and swamp roadbed along some roadbeds and bridge and culvert sections, which seriously restricts the overall improvement of railway transport capacity. The quality improvement project of Xiger Section of Qinghai-Tibet Railway officially started construction on June 21, 2022. The estimated total investment of the project is 1.547 billion yuan, and the planned construction period is one and a half years, with a total length of 760 kilometers. On the one hand, the design will comprehensively improve the roadbed damaged by freezing, saline soil disease, sand-damaged roadbed and damaged Bridges and culture. On the other hand, the passenger transport facilities of Huangyuan, Haiyan, Wulan, Delingha and other intermediate stations with high passenger transport capacity are strengthened.

In order to do a good job in this acceptance work, Qinghai-Tibet Group has set up a 100-member acceptance leading group for the quality improvement project to carry out acceptance checks on projects such as public works, communication signals, power supply, housing construction, and passenger and cargo information. Each acceptance team shall, in accordance with the acceptance procedures and steps, formulate acceptance plans and organize the professional acceptance work. Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the quantity, construction quality and use function of each unit project, put forward rectification measures for the problems found, and complete them within a time limit, and review and confirm the rectification situation on site. The main problems found in the summary and acceptance will be collected to form a problem library, and the problems will be rectified and sold to form a professional acceptance report. After the completion of the acceptance inspection, it will enter the joint test stage, and the Qinghai-Tibet Group Company will organize the test train to enter the line and start the trial operation.

The Xiger section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway has been in operation since May 1984. After nearly 40 years of development, it has changed from single-track operation to double-track operation, from Dongfeng trains to harmony electric locomotives, and then to Fuxing trains running at 160 kilometers per hour. This will become another big leap on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the advantages of the "Silver Line, Ethnic line and Unity Line" of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway will become more obvious. After the completion of the Xige section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the travel time of the Xining to Golmud train can be controlled within six hours, which is nearly 1.4 hours shorter than the current fastest train. In addition, the 160 km/h Green Giant EMU will also operate on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway for the first time, further strengthening passenger transport facilities along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, expanding the effective supply of railway transport, and greatly improving the capacity and efficiency of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
