On the morning of August 17, 2023, the opening ceremony of the Yangpu Shugang Expressway project was held in Yangpu, marking the full commencement of the project's construction. After the completion of the project, it will become the first bidirectional eight lane expressway in Hainan, providing important transportation support for the integrated development of Danyang. It is of great significance for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port and promoting the integrated development of Yangpu Economic Development Zone and the central city of western Danzhou.

Project Overview

It is reported that the Yangpu Shugang Expressway runs in an east-west direction, with the main starting point located near Shipai River in Dongcheng Town, Danzhou City. It connects to the G98 roundabout expressway, passes through Guangcun Town, Mutang Town, and Eman Town, and ends at Yangpu Port Planning Park 8 Road. The starting point of the connecting line connects to the endpoint of the main line, and the endpoint is located at the intersection of Yangpu Gangyuan Fourth Road and Yangpu Avenue, connecting to Yangpu Avenue.

The estimated total investment of this project is about 7.332 billion yuan, with a construction period of 36 months. It consists of two parts: the main line and the connecting line. The main line of the project is 33.037 kilometers long, and the connecting line is 2.301 kilometers long. The main line adopts the standard of a two-way eight lane expressway, and the connecting line adopts the standard of a two-way six lane expressway.

Six interchanges, including Shipai, Guangcun, Songlin, Mutang, Eman, and Yangpu Port, as well as one Songlin service area and one Mutang maintenance work area, are set up along the entire line. The construction content includes routes, roadbed and pavement, bridge and culvert engineering, route intersections, transportation engineering and facilities along the line, environmental protection and landscape greening engineering, etc.

The Yangpu Port Expressway is one of the key construction projects for the central and western land sea new channels in the "14th Five Year Comprehensive Transportation Plan of Hainan Province", and is included in the "2023 Key (Major) Project Investment Plan of Hainan Province" and the list of major projects for the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.
