Recently, the final assembly construction of Liuhua 11-1 platform topside was officially launched at the CFL construction site in Jinwan District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, with the 483 ton bottom panel slowly lifted and accurately positioned. The operating water depth of the platform is 324.5 meters, with a total height of more than 370 meters. It ranks seventh in the world and first in Asia in the field of fixed offshore platforms. It will serve in Liuhua 11-1 Oilfield in the South China Sea. It is of great significance to improve the domestic energy self-sufficiency rate, optimize the energy structure of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, and ensure national energy security.
The Liuhua 11-1 platform is a multifunctional offshore oil and gas drilling and production platform that integrates drilling, production, and daily life. It consists of an upper module and a deep-water jacket. The upper module is 67 meters long, 37 meters wide and 39 meters high, with a total weight of more than 10000 tons and a projection area of 2479 square meters, which is equivalent to the size of six standard Basketball court. Its living building can accommodate 100 people. Liuhua 11-1 Oilfield is approximately 220 kilometers southeast of Hong Kong and was put into operation in March 1996. It is China's first deepwater oilfield and the largest offshore reef limestone oilfield with geological reserves in China to date.
The upper module and jacket of the Liuhua 11-1 platform are expected to be completed in 2024, and will be loaded and towed separately to the predetermined sea area of the Liuhua 11-1 oilfield for installation. After completion, it will become an important milestone in the construction history of China's deepwater jacket platform, further improving the independent design and construction capabilities of China's large-scale deepwater offshore oil and gas equipment.
