On June 27, 2023, Anhui Panji Power Plant Phase II 2 × The 660MW ultra supercritical coal-fired unit project has started smoothly.

Relevant leaders of Anhui Province and Huainan City attended the commencement ceremony. Wang Shisen, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman, and General Manager of Huaihe Energy Holding Group, announced the commencement of construction; Zhang Pengfei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the East China Institute of China Energy Construction Planning and Design Group, and Chen Jianming, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Anhui Electric Power Construction Second Company attended the commencement ceremony.

The second phase of Panji Power Plant is another clean and efficient integration project of coal and electricity at the mine mouth, which is implemented in accordance with the national and Anhui provincial development plans and expanded on the basis of the two Huai coal bases in the first phase. The company is rooted in Huainan and has created a large number of milestone engineering projects in the national power industry, including the first domestically produced 6 MW unit, the first domestically produced 600000 kW unit, the only national 300 MW project, and the Anhui East Power Transmission Huainan Shanghai AC UHV Phase I project. It has always been in line with the high-quality development of the Huaihe River energy and power industry. As the contractor of the two main bid sections A and C of the project, I returned to the old battlefield and felt more responsible and glorious. I have confidence, ability, and must also build the Panji Power Plant Phase II project into a new benchmark project for 660000 thermal power units. The company will list this project as a key project and equip it with a strong and pragmatic management team and a top-notch engineering team. The Panji Power Plant Phase II Project Department of Anhui Power Construction Second Company, which is responsible for the construction of Unit 3, has scientifically deployed and closely monitored the progress, fully completing all preparatory work before pouring, and ensuring that the project starts with high quality as scheduled. At present, the main road of the construction area with seven connections and one leveling has been completed, and the structure of the comprehensive pump room and the foundation of the chimney have been raised to zero meters. The scope of concrete pouring this time is the K5-K7 foundation cushion cap in the boiler area of Unit 3.

Panji Power Plant Phase II 2 × The 660MW ultra supercritical coal-fired power unit project is a national high-quality development plan for energy integration in the Yangtze River Delta region, as well as a key scheduling project in Anhui Province's 14th Five Year Plan. It is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of June 2025. The total dynamic investment of the project is about 5.74 billion yuan. After the completion of the project, it will further consolidate and expand the demonstration effect of coal and electricity integration in Huainan pithead. It is expected that the annual power supply can reach 6.6 billion kilowatt hours, achieving an output value of about 2.4 billion yuan, and an annual tax payable of about 160 million yuan.
