Accelerating the development of pumped storage power stations is an inevitable trend in optimizing power structure and building modern power grids. Recently, the Shanxi Puxian Pumped Storage Power Station project held a mobilization activity to start construction in Heilongguan Town, Puxian. Li Yunfeng, Secretary of the Linfen Municipal Party Committee, attended and announced the start of construction.

The Puxian Pumped Storage Project is located in Heilongguan Town and Qiaojiawan Town, Puxian County. The power station is equipped with four reversible units with a single unit capacity of 300MW, with a total installed capacity of 1200MW. The power station is composed of an upper reservoir, a lower reservoir, a water conveyance system, an underground powerhouse, a ground switch station, etc. It mainly undertakes the tasks of peak shaving, valley filling, energy storage, frequency regulation, phase modulation, and emergency backup for Shanxi Power Grid. The total construction period of the project is 69 months, with a total investment of 9.245 billion yuan.

Puxian has joined hands with China Huadian Group to seek development and a win-win future, jointly promoting the construction of pumped storage power stations. The commencement of this project marks a new step in strengthening the industrial chain and cultivating professional towns in Puxian.
