Senelec, the Senegal Electricity Authority, has signed a contract worth 200 million euros with Vinci Energies in France to install 1350 kilometers of high-voltage and ultra-high voltage overhead and underground transmission lines.
The project is partially funded by France, and Finch has also built eight ultra-high voltage substations in West African countries.
Finch said that these projects will last for three years and will employ about 1000 people.
Vinci Energies' French and Moroccan subsidiaries will train local teams. The company stated that the power grid management system of the system will be able to remotely manage operations and detect defects in power lines.
Firstly, for Senegal, this transmission contract will greatly promote the development of the country's energy and telecommunications infrastructure. The implementation of transmission contracts will involve the construction of new transmission lines and telecommunications networks, which will help improve the country's energy supply security and telecommunications service quality, further promoting the country's economic development and social progress. In addition, this project will also create employment opportunities for Senegal, promote the transfer of skills and knowledge, and help the country cultivate more local talents.Editor/XingWentao
