Cdi Overseas signs DBO project for East Sewerage treatment plant in Ethiopia

On January 30, 2024, the contract signing ceremony of the Addis East Sewage Treatment Plant DBO project was held in the mayor's office of Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, and the Ethiopian State Management Department of China Overseas signed the contract with the Ethiopian side.

The project is financed by the World Bank and owned by the Addis Ababa Municipal Water Authority. The project includes the design and construction of two new sewage treatment plants and their operation and maintenance for a period of 15 years. The two wastewater plants are located in the districts of Addis Kitime and Kotebe with a designed flow rate of 52,060m3/ day and 54,500m3/ day, respectively. After the completion of the project, the sewage treatment area will cover most of Bole and Yeka, benefiting 885,000 residents in the eastern part of Addis City.

Ms. AdanechAbiebie, Mayor of Addis City, Mr. OusmaneDione, Country Representative of the World Bank, and Mr. ZerihunAbate, General Manager of the Water Authority of Addis Ababa City, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Liu Weiqiang, deputy general manager of the Ethiopian Country Management Department of China Land Overseas, and Park Ke, general manager of the business Department, attended the signing ceremony.

It is understood that China Land Overseas Group Co., Ltd. is a mixed-ownership enterprise jointly funded by central enterprises, management teams, local state-owned assets, overseas backbone employees and external natural persons. The company's business field has developed from a single project construction to include consulting planning, investment and operation, overseas infrastructure construction, logistics and trade and other four business areas.
