On February 18, 2024, State Energy Group announced the results of the preliminary special general contracting service public bidding for the Putian Meizhou Bay offshore wind farm project of Longyuan Power Fujian Longyuan New Energy Co., Ltd. and the survey and design public bidding for the Matsu Island offshore wind farm project (300MW). China Power Construction Fujian Electric Power Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd. successfully won the bid for the project, with a winning price of 28.98 million yuan.

The Putian Meizhou Bay offshore wind farm project is located in the eastern sea area of Meizhou Bay. The center of the site is 30km offshore, with a planned area of 43k square meters and a planned capacity of 400000 kilowatts. The theoretical water depth is about 31-40m.

The offshore wind farm site of Matsu Island is located in the eastern sea area of Lianjiang. The center of the site is about 20km west of Matsu Islands and about 35km west of the Huangqi Peninsula shore. The planned area is 37k square meters, with a planned capacity of 300000 kW and a theoretical water depth of about 40m. The total installed capacity of this project is 304MW, and it is planned to install 19 wind turbines with a single unit capacity of 16MW. The wind farm will be equipped with a 220kV offshore substation, a 220kV submarine cable transmission line, and an onshore centralized control center. At this stage, it is preliminarily considered to connect one 220kV submarine cable to the newly built 220kV onshore control station in the southeast of Huangqi Peninsula, Lianjiang County, and implement centralized and unified transmission with offshore wind power outside of Lianjiang.

According to the Notice of the Development and Reform Commission of Fujian Province on Encouraging the Construction of Energy Storage for Renewable Energy Generation Projects to Improve the Capacity of the Power Grid, this project aims to construct energy storage facilities near the proposed substation, with a capacity of 30MW/60MWh.
