China and Sierra Leone have friendly and close relations, with extensive cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, agriculture, science and technology, and education. A few days ago, Zheng Jiejie, director of the National Development and Reform Commission, signed two cooperation documents with the relevant departments of Sierra Leone, including the joint construction of the the Belt and Road and exchanges in the field of economic development.
The two sides agreed to further deepen cooperation in jointly building the the Belt and Road, signed the Cooperation Plan between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone on Jointly Promoting the Construction of the the Belt and Road, and promoted mutually beneficial cooperation in key areas such as policy communication, facility connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration, and people to people connectivity, so as to better enhance the well-being of the two peoples.
Both sides agree to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of economic development, sign a memorandum of understanding on exchanges and cooperation in the field of economic development, and conduct experience exchanges in macroeconomic, industrial development, infrastructure construction, green and sustainable development, digital economy, and other areas.
