Mainstream Renewable Power has successfully signed two wind energy service contracts with the Philippine Department of Energy to jointly promote the development of onshore wind power projects with a total capacity of 440MW. This move marks the company as one of the first companies to receive 100% foreign investment support within the WESC framework in the Philippines, demonstrating its leading position in the field of renewable energy.

The two projects are: the 100MW wind power project in Santa Ana City, Cagayan Province, and the 340MW wind power project on Panaon Island, Lait Province.

Philippine Minister of Energy Raphael PM Lottilla stated that the Philippine economy is in a stage of prosperity and development, and the government is very pleased with the investment of foreign and local enterprises in the field of renewable energy. He believes that these investments can not only promote the development of renewable energy in the Philippines, but also create more employment opportunities for the Philippine people and promote sustained economic growth.

Norwegian Ambassador to the Philippines, Christian Halaas Lyster, expressed great satisfaction with the favorable conditions that Mainstream has created for the development of renewable energy in the Philippines. Norway has always been a firm partner for the Philippines to shift towards renewable energy and is committed to promoting sustainable development in this field.

Mainstream is an Irish company primarily engaged in wind and solar energy businesses, covering Europe, Africa, Latin America, and the Asia Pacific region. It has a cumulative installed capacity of 6.5GW and an ongoing capacity of 20.6GW. In May 2021, Norwegian company Aker Horizons acquired its majority stake and became Mainstream's largest shareholder. In 2022, Mitsui Corporation of Japan became the second largest shareholder of Mainstream.

According to Mainstream's official website, the company has established close ties with the Norwegian Embassy in the Philippines through its major shareholder Aker Horizons.
