As an important part of the Sichuan-Tibet Expressway, the Luding Dadu River Bridge was successfully completed and opened to traffic on December 31, 2018. During its construction, it faced severe challenges and tests such as complex terrain and geological conditions and harsh weather. After five years of unremitting efforts by the builders, a super project appeared on the rough Dadu River.
Over the years, the Sichuan-Tibet Highway and the bridges along it have been continuously upgraded and perfected, becoming a microcosm of China's highway transportation development. The Luding Dadu River Bridge on Yakang Expressway is an ultra-long span steel truss suspension bridge built under high altitude, high seismic intensity zone, complex wind field and temperature field environment. The length of the bridge is 1,411 meters, the main span is 1,100 meters, the deck is a two-way four-lane expressway, and the design speed is 80 kilometers per hour. The total investment of the project is more than 1 billion yuan. It is known as "the first bridge in Sichuan and Tibet". Editor/Tian Zengpeng
