At 4:17 and 13:17 local time on February 6, 2023, Türkiye had two earthquakes of magnitude 7.8 with a focal depth of 20 kilometers, which was the largest earthquake that Türkiye had suffered since 1939, and buildings in many places were razed to the ground.

After the earthquake, there was a slight earthquake in Ankara, where XCMG Türkiye was located about 700km away from the epicenter.

Equipment assembly

XCMG Türkiye quickly started the emergency response mechanism. On the one hand, it reported the local situation to the headquarters of XCMG, and at the same time, it quickly coordinated the deployment of three XCMG excavators under construction near Gaziantep to the disaster area for rescue.

After receiving the news, XCMG quickly set up an emergency rescue team led by Liu Jiansen, vice president of XCMG Machinery and general manager of Import and Export Corporation, to keep close contact with the front of Türkiye and command and dispatch the on-site rescue situation 24 hours a day.

At 12:30 on February 6, 2023 local time, a series of instructions were issued quickly. XCMG Türkiye sent out all its staff to communicate with each other. Adhering to the principle of proximity and speed, it immediately allocated 12 excavators, loaders and other emergency equipment of all tonnage to stop working and stand by, and actively responded to the call of the Chinese Embassy in Türkiye and the General Chamber of Commerce of Chinese Enterprises in Türkiye, coordinated resources and actively contacted to provide necessary assistance for local Chinese and overseas Chinese.

The government of Türkiye has requisitioned all available trucks and transportable means of transportation. XCMG's equipment has arrived in the disaster area and is being put into rescue.
