On January 20, 2024, in a festive and peaceful atmosphere, the construction project of the second phase of the Sky Information University was officially launched. Jinan Municipal Party Secretary Liu Qiang attended and announced the start of construction. This important moment marks a new stage in the construction of the Aerospace Information University, further consolidating the foundation and accumulating momentum to build a "five first-class" Aerospace Information University.

The total planned area of this campus is about 1100 acres, with a planned total construction area of approximately 628000 square meters. The total investment in construction projects is about 6 billion yuan. Through the unremitting efforts of various units, the first phase of the project has continuously adjusted and optimized its functions, renovated and improved existing buildings, and achieved significant results in project construction, revitalizing the original school buildings and better meeting the needs of education. Currently, it has been successfully completed. The second phase of the construction project plans to build 21 individual buildings and outdoor supporting projects, including the Graphic and Text Information Building, the College of Science and Engineering Cluster, the National Heavy Industry Building, and the Engineering Technology Center. The commencement of the project marks a new stage of campus construction, which will further consolidate the foundation and accumulate momentum for building a "five first-class" Aerospace Information University.

The field of aerospace information is an important development direction for the future information technology industry, which has always been the focus of international competition and the main battlefield and battlefield of national strategic development. The commencement of the second phase construction project is an important milestone for the development and growth of the school, and it is also a necessary path towards the goal of "striving to build a first-class university in China and even the world" with "high starting point planning, high standard construction, and high-quality development" as the starting point. We hope that all participating units will have high standards and strict requirements, carefully organize and carry out scientific construction to ensure high-quality and timely completion of engineering construction tasks.

Jinan City actively responds to the challenges and opportunities of the aerospace information industry, mainly focusing on key areas such as carrier rockets, satellite research and development, aviation manufacturing, and information applications. They firmly believe in the strategy of integrating industry, academia, and research, and continue to increase investment to promote the expansion of industry scale and the improvement of quality. In order to further strengthen Jinan's leadership position in the aerospace information industry, Aerospace Information University needs to focus on national strategy, closely integrate with industry demand, quickly cultivate senior talents, and make every effort to break through key technologies. This will inject new vitality into the prosperity of Jinan's aerospace information industry. Editor/Zhao E
