On February 13, 2024, a grand groundbreaking ceremony was held in Akaibo Oblast, Nigeria, marking the official launch of the Aorong 13.5-kilometer road and bridge project undertaken by China Civil Engineering Corporation.

This project is an important transportation artery connecting the local governments of Okobo and Aorong, with a total length of 13.5 kilometers. In order to meet the growing demand for transportation, the project adopts advanced asphalt concrete pavement design and sets up a two-way four lane road. This measure will not only provide a large number of employment opportunities for local residents, but also bring great convenience to the travel of residents along the route. In addition, the completion of the project will also improve the transportation difficulties of aquatic products from the southern coastal area of the state to the mainland, inject new vitality into the prosperity and development of the local economy, and further improve the income level and quality of life of local residents.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Governor Umo Eno delivered an enthusiastic speech. He expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the state government and local people for the significant contributions made by China Civil Engineering Corporation in the infrastructure construction of Akaibo Oblast. He emphasized that this project has received high expectations and attention from the state government and local people. He hopes that China Civil Engineering can continue to leverage its own advantages, invest more high-quality resources, work closely with the local government and community, and ensure that the project is completed on time and with quality. At the same time, he also hopes that this project can play an important role in the local economic improvement and people's livelihood construction, and make new and greater contributions to the prosperity and development of Akaiyibo Prefecture.
