As an important part of the follow-up of the grand blueprint of the South-to-North water diversion project, the Yangtze River replenishment project recently officially started, marking that the national water resources allocation strategy has entered a new implementation stage. The project is not only the first project to be launched in the follow-up project of the South-to-North Water Diversion project, but also with its 194.7 km length, across multiple regions, the Three Gorges and Danjiangkou two key nodes of the national water network are closely connected.
According to staff members, the biggest highlight of the project is that it successfully connects China's two largest reservoirs, the Three Gorges Reservoir and the Danjiangkou Reservoir. This innovative connection makes the adjustable storage capacity of the entire system reach an astonishing 50 billion cubic meters, providing a solid guarantee for the rational allocation and efficient use of water resources.
The completion of the project will bring significant benefits. The middle route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project is expected to increase from the current 9.5 billion cubic meters to 11.51 billion cubic meters, which means that the northern region will have additional water supply, enough to meet the domestic water needs of more than 33 million households for a year. This is not only a great improvement in the quality of life of residents, but also a strong support for regional ecological balance and sustainable economic development. Key words: infrastructure, infrastructure construction, planning investment
The start of the project not only reflects China's forward-looking thinking in the management and allocation of water resources, but also shows the great importance of ecological civilization construction. With the gradual advancement and final completion of the project, it will surely become an important lifeline connecting the north and the south, enriching thousands of families, and injecting new vitality into China's sustainable development.
