On February 22, 2024, the 940MW fishery solar complementary photovoltaic power generation project located in Ganyu District, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, officially started construction. This project is expected to become the largest complementary new energy project for fishing and solar energy in Jiangsu Province, not only showcasing the ambitious goals of Ganyu District in the field of new energy, but also marking the rapid development of the photovoltaic industry cluster in the area.
The total investment of the 940MW complementary photovoltaic power generation project for fishing and solar power, which started construction this time, is about 5.43 billion yuan. It is planned to achieve full capacity grid connected power generation by the end of September 2024. After completion, the total annual power generation is expected to reach 1.609 billion kilowatt hours, saving 496400 tons of coal annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1.2374 million tons/year, sulfur dioxide by 200.55 tons/year, nitrogen oxides by 286.51 tons/year, and achieving sales revenue of 629 million yuan. This project includes the Dongshang 280MW Fishery and Solar Complementary Photovoltaic Power Generation Project, Dongshang 360MW Fishery and Solar Complementary Photovoltaic Power Generation Project, and Dongyu 300MW Fishery and Solar Complementary Photovoltaic Power Generation Project, along with the construction of two new 220kV booster stations. Three complementary photovoltaic power generation projects are located in Dunshang Town and Songzhuang Town, with advantageous geographical locations and abundant solar energy resources and water surface space.
The project adopts the "complementary fishing and light" model, fully utilizing the area of fish ponds, combining photovoltaic power generation and fishery aquaculture, forming a composite industrial model of "water power generation and underwater aquaculture". The economic value of unit land area is significantly improved, achieving efficient utilization of land resources and ecological development, and creating a "new sample" of clean energy development. The successful implementation of the project will achieve the integrated development of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, a historical leap from traditional aquaculture to modern fisheries, turning dormant resources into real funds, benefiting all three parties, and achieving a "double harvest" of economic and social benefits.
It is worth mentioning that all photovoltaic modules in this project use N-type 630 modules produced by Lianyungang Dongci Factory, with an estimated usage of over 1.9 million pieces, driving a production value of about 1.5 billion yuan. All pile drivers are provided by local pile driver enterprises such as Dunshang Huayun Pile Industry, which has driven a sharp increase in the production volume of pile driver enterprises. This not only ensures the quality and efficiency of the project, but also further consolidates the leading position of Ganyu District in the photovoltaic industry chain.
The photovoltaic industry in Ganyu District is experiencing vigorous development, with not only the Lianyungang Dongci project, but also important enterprises in the photovoltaic industry chain such as Shenzhou New Energy, Rongfa New Energy, and An'an New Energy. Among them, Shenzhou New Energy, as a pioneer in the photovoltaic industry in Ganyu District, focuses on the production of photovoltaic modules with an annual production capacity of up to 5GW. An'an New Energy has invested 3 billion yuan to introduce advanced production technology and build a photovoltaic frame production base consisting of 12 extrusion lines and 25 automated production lines. Its products can meet the supporting needs of 25GW photovoltaic modules. Rongfa New Energy has also achieved significant results in the deep processing of photovoltaic glass, and its production line will be able to meet the downstream demand of 4GW after being put into operation. Ganyu District is implementing the strategy of extending, supplementing, and strengthening the photovoltaic industry chain, improving the industrial supporting system, and promoting the photovoltaic industry to move towards the direction of technological leadership, upstream and downstream collaboration, and linkage development. This series of measures has laid a solid foundation for the future development of the photovoltaic industry in Ganyu District. Editor/Zhao E
