From February 26th to 27th, 2024, the Engineering Design Appraisal Center of China Railway Group held a review meeting for the implementation plan of the Suzhou Jiayong High speed Railway Suzhou North Station in Suzhou.

The Shanghai Railway Bureau, Shanghai Hangzhou Passenger Dedicated Railway Company, Shanghai East Station Command, Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Provincial Railway Office, Provincial Railway Group, Suzhou Municipal Government, Suzhou Development and Reform Commission, Suzhou Municipal Planning Bureau, Suzhou Transportation Bureau (Railway Office), Suzhou Rail Transit Group, relevant departments of Xiangcheng District, and design units attended the meeting.

Gu Haidong, member of the Standing Committee of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and Executive Vice Mayor, attended the meeting and expressed gratitude to China Railway Group, Shanghai Railway Bureau, Shanghai Hangzhou Passenger Dedicated Company, Shanghai East Station Command, and leaders at all levels in Jiangsu Province for their long-term care and support for the construction of Suzhou North Station.

Suzhou North Station is the intersection of the Beijing Shanghai high-speed railway and the Tongsu Jiayong high-speed railway. It is also the intersection of the Tongsu Lake intercity railway and the Suzhou Xichang intercity railway, and introduces multiple subways. The construction of the Tongsu Jiayong high-speed railway started in November 2022, with a construction period of 5 years.

At the review meeting, the design unit reported on the implementation design plan for the Suzhou North Station building and supporting comprehensive transportation hub project. The Shanghai Railway Bureau, Shanghai Hangzhou Company, Shanghai East Station Command, and provincial and municipal units expressed relevant opinions on the plan. Chen Dongjie, Deputy Director of the Appraisal Center of China Railway Group, gave important instructions. Subsequently, the review meeting held technical discussions on the plan and internal discussions among experts.

Suzhou City will make every effort to promote the preliminary work of the Suzhou North Station building project, strengthen the coordinated development with the Hongqiao International Open Hub, achieve "station city integration, industry city integration, environmental integration, and cultural tourism integration", and build it into a new benchmark for comprehensive transportation hubs facing the future.
