On March 6, the Hunan Provincial Department of Natural Resources came the good news that the high-profile Yichang Railway (Hunan section) project was recently officially approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources. This milestone has laid a solid foundation for the approval of the subsequent feasibility study report of the project and the early start of construction, marking that the construction of the Yi-Chang railway has entered a new stage.

Yichang Railway, as a key link in the national medium and long term railway network planning, not only carries the important task of connecting the north and the south and promoting regional development, but also plays an important role in improving China's railway traffic network. It is connected with the planned Zhangjiajie to Shimen railway, will bring more convenient transportation conditions for Hunan region, and further promote the economic and social development of areas along the line.

In Hunan Province, the main line of the Yichang Railway (Hunan section) project has a total length of 98.09 kilometers, passing through many counties and districts such as Lixian County, Linli County, Dingcheng District of Changde City and Wuling District. The railway line will not only bring the region closer to the surrounding cities, but also provide local people with a faster and more comfortable way to travel. At the same time, the construction of the railway will also drive the industrial upgrading and economic development of the regions along the line, creating more job opportunities and economic benefits for the local areas.
